Rubberstamp Robin Carnahan: Hiding from Missourians for 400 Days

Bookmark and Share Posted on 2010-03-09

Jefferson City - Four hundred days ago, on February 3, 2009, Rubberstamp Robin Carnahan pre-taped an Internet announcement of her candidacy for the U.S. Senate. Her staff then put the tape on YouTube. Since then Carnahan has avoided Missourians and the media, refusing to explain her radical stances in support of government-run health care, a massive job-killing national energy tax under "cap and trade," the so-called "stimulus" bill and compulsory unionization without secret ballot elections for Missouri workers.

Last year, Carnahan chose to travel the world instead of campaigning in Missouri. This year she's spending most of her time on the east and west coasts discussing how she would rubberstamp the liberal agenda of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Barack Obama. Carnahan recently completed a highly publicized fundraising swing with environmental extremists in Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon, then flew over Missouri again to the opposite coast for a fundraiser last night in New York City.

Today Robin Carnahan is again in Washington, D.C. for a fundraiser at the private home of Louisiana U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu. Landrieu made headlines for the secret backroom deal, known as the "Louisiana Purchase," which she made in exchange for her vote for the Senate's government takeover of health care bill. Robin Carnahan told The Associated Press she would have voted "yes" on the Senate bill which included the "Louisiana Purchase."

"Rubberstamp Robin Carnahan knows that her radical positions are way out of touch with Missouri views and values," said Blunt spokesperson Rich Chrismer. "In an ongoing insult to the people of Missouri, Carnahan offers no solutions for critical national concerns and won't explain her support for government-run health care, the so-called 'stimulus' bill that failed to create jobs, a job-killing cap and tax bill, taking away workers' rights to a secret ballot in union election.

"This election is not complicated. If Missourians want a U.S. Senator who will rubberstamp the liberal agenda of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barack Obama and the radical left, they want Robin Carnahan. But if Missourians want a U.S. Senator who will be on their side fighting for Missouri jobs, families, workers and taxpayers, they want Roy Blunt."

The Blunt for Senate campaign is keeping track of Carnahan's failure to discuss or debate issues with a Carnahan Counter on its Website. The counter has reached 400 days since Carnahan's announcement Feb 3.
