Rep. Roy Blunt, R-Missouri, visited Broken Arrow Electric Supply in Lee's Summit last Friday to talk jobs and the economy as a part of his Jobs for Missouri's Future campaign tour.
Blunt toured the 428 S.E. Fleetway Circle location and talked with company vice president Greg Johnson and three other Broken Arrow employees about how the economy is affecting their business.
U.S. Congressman Roy Blunt, R-MO, spoke at the Salt Fork Pachyderm Club's Saline County Lincoln Day Dinner Friday, Feb. 19, during his "Jobs for Missouri's Future" bus tour.
Speaking about proposed cap-and-trade legislation, Blunt said it would approximately double the cost for coal-based utilities.
This would not only affect Missouri's residents, but also its employers, which could lead to some going out of business, he said.
Following a 30-minute campaign visit to Richmond on Friday, U.S. Senate candidate Roy Blunt continued on a 19-city political caravan with the theme “Jobs for Missouri’s Future.”
Blunt, a seven-term Republican congressman, told a group of around 20 supporters at Jeffrey Kyle’s Family Grill & Buffet, 908 East Main St., that jobs will only be created if business people feel secure enough to invest their money.
