Missouri Veterans Call on Carnahan to Condemn Shameful Attack Ad

Jefferson City - Missouri Veterans are calling on Robin Carnahan to condemn an offensive and false attack ad paid for by Carnahan's liberal Washington special interests. The reprehensible ad falsely accuses Roy Blunt of supporting terrorism with his vote against cap-and-tax, places his image over footage of the bombing of the USS Cole and attempts to link him to the Christmas Day bomber.

"This is some of the dirtiest politics we have seen in Missouri and the ad is an affront to the memory and the families of those Americans who were murdered in the terrorist attack on the USS Cole," stated a coalition of Missouri veterans. "We commend the service of all American veterans but those who participated in this false ad on behalf of Robin Carnahan have dishonored themselves and their service."

The group responsible for the offensive ad is a liberal special interest group from Washington D.C. with ties to the Carnahan campaign. The special interest group is spending $600,000 to air their sleazy commercials in Missouri.

"Since this ad is airing to benefit Robin Carnahan, we are calling on Carnahan to immediately denounce it and tell her liberal allies to take it off the air," the veterans said.

In response to the dirty politics of Carnahan's special interests, veterans from across the state are uniting to support Roy Blunt with the formation of a new Veterans for Blunt coalition.

Veterans for Blunt is a coalition of Missouri veterans who are supporting Roy Blunt for his record of service and commitment to America's veterans as well as his achievements in helping ensure our men and woman in uniform have the tools and support they need to fight and win the War on Terror.

The group is urging Missouri veterans to join the Veterans for Blunt coalition to ensure Missourians have a pro-military, pro-defense, pro-veterans voice in the United States Senate.

Roy Blunt has been a champion of America's veterans. He led the effort to allow many more disabled veterans to receive both their military benefits and compensation for a service connected disability, cut the waiting time to less than one month - from more than six months - for new veterans awaiting a VA appointment and was a leader in increasing military survivor benefits.

Veterans who are calling on Carnahan to condemn this offensive and false advertisement include:

Matt Blunt, United States Navy, Operation Enduring Freedom Veteran, Springfield.

John Comerford, United States Navy Veteran, St. Louis.

Charlie Dickinson, United States Army, Retired, Hartville.

Joe Frank, Former National Commander of The American Legion, United States Army Veteran, Sunset Hills.

Adam Gresham, United States Marine Corps Veteran, Jefferson City.
