Truth Check: NEW Untruths by Rubberstamp Robin's Liberal Extremist Fringe

Jefferson City - Rubberstamp Robin Carnahan checked all the Pelosi-Reid-Obama boxes in 2009. Now, her campaign is flagging, and the national Democrat money groups are sending cash-laden liberal special interests from Washington to Missouri to make more false claims about Roy Blunt in an offensive TV ad.

THE NEW UNTRUTH: If you don't support Rubberstamp Robin's cap-and-tax bill you support "terrorism."

THE TRUTH: Rubberstamp Robin supported the failed so-called "stimulus." Endorsed ObamaCare - the government takeover of health care. Signed on the line to impose union contracts with no worker vote. Yes, to close Guatanamo detention for terrorists. And -- about these new ads by her far-left allies -- she backs the cap and tax job-killer that would send Missouri jobs overseas and cause gasoline prices and monthly electricity bills to skyrocket.

THE TRUTH: Left wing groups in Washington are paying off Robin Carnahan with a $600,000 reward for supporting the cap and tax anti-energy bill.

THE TRUTH: Roy Blunt favors more energy production here at home, right now, to provide the fuel for growth and job creation, and to break our nation's dangerous reliance on foreign energy sources.

"Rubberstamp Robin supports the Obama-Reid-Pelosi cap and tax bill to increase Missourians' electricity bills by hundreds of dollars every year, and destroy more than 32,000 jobs in 2012 alone," said Blunt spokesperson Rich Chrismer. "Roy Blunt, just like most other Missourians, opposes cap and tax, and has outlined solution after solution to reduce America's dependence on foreign oil, with no new job-killing taxes. Robin Carnahan has one plan -- cap and tax, raise energy costs for our families and in the process destroy jobs."

The Roy Blunt energy policy is for new production of U.S. oil, coal and natural gas in environmentally responsible ways, starting now. As we look ahead, he supports sensible steps toward greater efficiency and progress for alternative fuels and new energy technologies, but not government takeovers, mandates, and killing Missouri jobs under the Carnahan-Obama plan.

"Last year, the environmental extremists spent $750,000 on phony attacks because Roy Blunt stands firm against cap and tax," Chrismer said. "Now, a new liberal special interest group is spending $600,000 to reward Robin Carnahan for wanting to sell out the Missouri economy. The only candidate under mortgage to special interests in this picture is Rubberstamp Robin."
